Report an Outage
First, check for blown fuses and tripped breakers, including disconnects that may be located at the pole. Always keep extra fuses on hand. Washington Electric cannot make service calls to replace fuses. This is the member's responsibility. If a crew is dispatched for an outage and the cause is determined to be on the consumer's side of the meter, a trip charge will be assessed. Be certain you’ve eliminated any chance the outage is on your side of the meter before requesting a crew be dispatched.
Report outages by calling our office at (740) 373-2141. If you receive a busy signal due to high call volume or are reporting an outage after normal business hours, call our after-hours outage line at 877-544-0279. You can also use our SmartHub system to report outages online or using your mobile device!

When reporting an outage, please provide the name the account is listed in, the location (map) number and your telephone number.
Please report all information regarding an outage to help Washington Electric personnel locate the problem so that power may be quickly restored.
It is important that you report any outage promptly. Don't assume that someone else has reported it. Your calls help us determine the extent and specific location of outages. We particularly want to know about any dangerous or life-threatening situations.
If you get put on hold or get a busy signal, please remember that the phone lines get very busy during major outages. If you are put on hold, please stay on the line until your call is received and your outage is recorded. Remember, you may also call our after-hours outage line at (877) 544-0279 if calling outside of normal business hours or if you encounter busy signals due to high call volume.
